Louis Murego is experienced in representing Clients to liaise with Consultants and Contractors to deliver successful Hydropower projects. He is a Civil Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in Rwanda’s Energy Sector, serving in both public and private sectors.

He joined Ngali Energy in 2015 and is charged with following up implementation of Hydro Power greenfield projects, as well as following up maintenance of existing Plants. He is currently the Employer’s Representative for the Company’s pilot greenfield project, Ntaruka ‘A’ Small Hydropower Project which will house the region’s first Saxo-Kaplan turbine (a hybrid of Kaplan and Bulb turbines).

Before joining Ngali Energy, he worked in the Ministry of Infrastructure and later Rwanda Energy Group where he was assigned to the 28 Mega Watt Nyabarongo 1 Hydropower Project as Resident Engineer. This Project, consisting of two vertical Francis turbines, was commissioned in March 2015.

Louis holds a Master’s Degree in International Construction Management and Engineering from the University of Leeds in the UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology. He has also done a wide range of continuous professional development courses related to Hydropower.
